This piece captures the raw spirit of adventure and the freedom of the open road. As a teen growing up on a farm in B.C., I longed for escape – a way to experience something beyond the familiar. Hitchhiking across Canada, the eastern states, and parts of the UK, I found a sense of freedom in the unknown, with nothing but the road ahead and the thrill of the journey. The figure reaching up with their thumb, while semi trucks soar overhead, symbolizes that unrelenting desire for adventure and the boundless freedom I felt hitching a ride into the unknown.
